Something something metaverse.

Since 2013 the VR hype train has sped up, slowed down, completely derailed and somehow found its way back onto the tracks (if somewhat shakily). Though it never lived up to its supposedly world changing promise, we're still big fans of the technology at freak.ie.

We're not at the point where there's a headset on every man, woman, cat and dog, but the super immersive nature of the technology has found a home in various fields such as education, healthcare, and entertainment. Plus, VR has found new applications in industries like architecture, real estate, product design, and industrial training, making it a valuable tool for businesses.

And with Meta's Quest 2 headset now being the best selling VR headset ever, and Apple launching their Vision Pro headset in early 2024, I wouldn't bet against it changing the world just yet.
